Orphaned Wallaby with a graze
Caring for Australian Wildlife
Australia's unique wildlife face many threats. One of the biggest impacts on wildlife is road traffic. Every year, thousands of animals are injured or killed on Australia's roads, leaving behind orphaned joeys and injured animals in need of care. This is where wildlife carers step in.
Some of the orphaned joeys are lucky and get found in time. One of those lucky ones was this Bennett’s Wallaby you can see in the photo. Her mother died in the road accident, but this little one got away with no major injuries, except a graze on her nose.
Her carer cleaned the the area and applied our Kunzea based CritterKream daily. Kunzea ambigua is known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties, making it an ideal treatment for small wounds and skin irritations. Within just a few days, the graze had scabbed over, and within about a week, it had completely healed. The wallaby's nose was back to its normal color, and there was no sign of infection.
CritterKream is made entirely from natural ingredients, so it is safe to use for all animals, including wildlife. Did you know that wildlife are often found under Kunzea ambigua shrubs? Read this article to find out why.
Support for Wildlife Rescuers
We know how much time, energy and money goes into caring for orphaned and injured wildlife. Australian wildlife carers work tirelessly around the clock to help animals in need. Generally, wildlife volunteers pay for their efforts with their own money.
We want to support the wildlife rescue community. If you have animals in care that would benefit from our skin care products, please get in touch and we will set you up with a set of products that can be used to clean the skin and to treat small cuts, abrasions and rashes. Please let us know what wildlife rescue group you belong to and/or provide your permit number.
